Infant Term Calendar

Summer Term 2010 Nursery and Infant School

The Summer term events are varied and exciting and you can find below dates to keep an eye on:

April 21 – Year 1 and 2 start their weekly swimming lessons
April 26 – A music and art workshop ‘Painting Music’ inspired by Wassily Kandinsky
May – Year 2 SATs throughout the month
May 5 – The Hayward Trio pay a return visit to entertain our children with their variety of music played on a violin, cello and viola
May 6 – Reception visit the Zoology museum in connection with their topic on Animals and Life Cycles
May 10 – Reception visit the Botanic Gardens to look at different animal habitats
May 13 – Year 2 visit Bhaktivedanta Manor near Watford to learn more about the Hindu faith as part of their RE lessons
May 24 – Year 1 and 2 visit Cambridge Central Library
May 27 – Nursery and Reception visit Wimpole Hall Farm to continue their study of animals and their habitat. They will also take part in the Barnardo’s ‘Big Toddle’
May 28 – Pyjama Day – Children come to school in their pyjamas to raise money for our chosen charity
June 8 – Sports Afternoon at Fenners. Everyone welcome!
June 14 – 18 – Poetry Week – Visiting poets and authors will be sharing their poems with our children, including Tony Mitton
June 17 – Public Speaking – A chance for the children to shine as they read or recite a nursery rhyme (Nursery and Reception) or a poem (Year 1 and 2) chosen by themselves to the rest of the Nursery and Infant school
June 22 – Year 2 pay a visit to CIPS, our sister international school at Cherry Hinton Hall for a picnic lunch prepared by their own fair hands!
June 29 – Move Up Morning – An opportunity for the children to meet their new class teachers in their new classrooms for September 2010
July 1 – Whole School Trip to Wandlebury – a day of exploring, pond dipping and generally enjoying the peaceful surroundings of this excellent venue right on our doorstep
July 6 – End of year party lunch
July 7 – End of term Prizegiving service at St Paul’s Church to which all parents as most warmly invited.
School finishes at 12.15pm with children being collected from their class teachers
