      12th October 2011

      Dear Junior Parents

With half term approaching – we break up on Thursday 20th October, I thought a brief update of events would be helpful.

PARENT CONSULTATIONS – Wednesday 19th October 3.45 pm onwards
Please sign up for an appointment with your child’s class teacher if you have not already done so. We are looking forward to discussing with you how your child has settled in this term. Please note we will try our best to run strictly to time.

      ADDRESS/TELEPHONE UPDATE FORM
One or two forms are outstanding. Please return your forms as soon as possible. If you have mislaid your form, Mrs Mapp/Mrs Hoppett have spare copies. These are very important in case we need to contact you in an emergency and also provide an opportunity for any updated email addresses etc.

PARENT OPEN MORNING - Wednesday 19th October 9.15-10.00 am

‘HOME CLOTHES DAY’ AND INFANT CAKE SALE FOR ‘CHILDREN IN NEED’ WEDNESDAY 19TH OCTOBER

Children may attend school in ‘home clothes’ on Wednesday 19th October. Please bring £2 for this privilege, which will be donated to ‘Children in Need’.

The Year Two class would like to sell cakes to the Nursery, Infants, Junior and Senior children to raise extra money for this worthwhile charity. Please would all parents send your child with a contribution of 50p to buy a treat of their choice. Very many thanks for your support.

      SANCTON WOOD PARENTS ASSOCIATION
SWPA is gearing up for the Christmas Fayre. We are so grateful to the mothers and fathers who give their time so generously to help all our children. If you would like to join SWPA/could help in some way with events, you would be most welcome! It is a wonderful way to make friends, especially if you are new to the school. Please go on the school website (www.sanctonwood.co.uk) or www.swpa.org.uk for more details. Please support the ‘wrapping paper’ fund raiser and send orders in A.S.A.P. – by 20
      October at the latest.

WHOLE SCHOOL OPEN MORNING – Saturday 5th November
The whole school open morning takes place between 10 am and 12 noon on Saturday 5th November. Please tell your friends about us – all are welcome.

      SPORT
Please would parents check that their child comes to school with all the
correct P.E. equipment. We want your children to enjoy their sports lessons
safely and this is not possible if they do not have all the correct equipment. Our P.E. Department work so hard preparing lessons we don’t want time wasted. Thank you for naming all kit so clearly – it is much appreciated.

      30th June 2011

      Dear Parents

I can hardly believe the end of term is almost here, how this year seems to have flown by. It has been a pleasure to see the Juniors thrive and flourish in such a happy atmosphere. I would like to thank all the staff who help achieve this.

Hopefully, we can all look forward to a long hot summer holiday with our families. Before that happy event we still have another exciting week of school which offers a good variety of activities which I would like to remind you of.

FRIDAY 1ST J ULY OLD HUNSTANTON NORFOLK - ALL JUNIORS

Thank you for returning your forms so quickly and your donation for ‘Rock your Shades’. If you have any queries about the trip please speak to the class teacher.

TUESDAY 5TH JULY SPANISH DAY WHOLE SCHOOL

Your child may wish to dress up on this day, with a Spanish theme. Anything really, from a flamenco dress, red, yellow clothing, a flag – anything that will add to the fun of the day without causing any inconvenience. Activities for the Juniors will include Flamenco Dancing, ‘Miro’ art session, Spanish cullture lessons. Why not send in a Spanish themed packed lunch? Those children who pay for hot lunches will be eating Spanish food!

WEDNESDAY 6TH JULY JUNIOR HOUSE PLAYS

The pupils perform their House Play to each other. Please be prepared if your child asks for strange props etc. Each year the House Plays are written by the Year 6 and performed by all the Juniors. A cup is awarded to the best play.

THURSDAY 7TH JULY - DRUMMING WORKSHOP

All the Juniors will be participating in a drumming workshop. Apologies in advance for any pestering for a new hobby during the holidays!

Would parents kindly collect their child from school after the church service.

Please note term starts THURSDAY 8TH SEPTEMBER.

Finally, I would like to wish Mrs Weeks our love and support whilst she spends sometime in August having her baby. Mrs Weeks has worked very hard and with such dedication with Year 5 and I am sure you would like to join us in wishing her all the best. Hopefully we will have news of baby Weeks in September.

Thank you for your continued support and please enjoy your off-spring over the holiday as much we have done so over the year.

      Kind regards.
