Badminton - November 2011
Sancton Wood vs Cambridge International School

On the 14th of November eight Year 7 and 8 boys represented the school in a badminton match against The Cambridge International School. Sancton Wood Won 23 sets to 11. The boys played doubles first and at that point the scores were fairly even; but during the singles matches Sancton Wood demonstrated their dominance by winning the majority of those. The team was captained by Theo Roberts and he was our strongest player, winning all of his doubles and singles matches, many of them 11-0. Xan Hill and Robin Norrish played well in the doubles matches, while David Swannack achieved some great wins during his singles matches. All the boys were a credit to the school and it was lovely to play such a friendly fixture. Well done Sancton Wood.
Senior School Council
Meeting with MP, Julian Huppert - November 2011

The Senior School Council enjoyed a meeting with our MP, Julian Huppert as part of the schools' work on Parliamentary Week. The visit was followed by a viewing of a special Prime Minister's questions a week later in which Mr. Huppert asked the Prime Minister a question. He did not, however, select the question the School Council most wanted to know the answer to: 'What's your favourite type of Jelly Bean!' Nevertheless, it was an interesting insight into the world of politics.
