Book Week 2017

Monday 27th February – Friday 3rd March

As you may have seen in the school calendar, the second week after half term is Book Week.  We have a jam packed week booked for the children and it is going to be AMAZING!

The Book Week timetable has been finalised and you can download a copy of it here!  I would like to draw your attention to a few things in particular:

Firstly, the Book Cafe will run Monday – Thursday from 7.45 – 8.45am in the hall at St Paul’s Road.  This will be a chance for you and your children to enjoy a relaxing breakfast whilst reading books, newspapers or discussing your latest read.  There is no charge for the Book Cafe.  If your child usually goes to Sherpa Kids before school and you would like to use the Book Cafe then you will need to let them know that you child will not be attending and on which days.  Please note that all children up to and including Year 6 need to be supervised by an adult and may not be dropped off unsupervised.

Secondly, on the Wednesday (1st March) evening from 7.00 – 9.30pm we are holding an author event for parents.  The lovely Sarah Vaughan will talk to us whilst we enjoy cheese & wine.  The charge for this event is £10 and the whole £10 will be added to our Readathon sponsorship money total.  This event is open to all family and friends of Sancton Wood (sorry no children.)  Please email Mrs Janes to book your tickets.

Finally, Thursday 2nd March is World Book Day and the whole school will be dressing up as book characters so please help you child with putting together a costume during half term.  There will be a prize in each class for the best costume.
