Our Year 6 Netball team took to the court last week, Arthur who played in the fixture has written the following match report:
On the 21st of February some of Year 6 went to St Laurence for a Netball fixture, the format was that we had two teams they had one. After one match we would change between our two teams, each team played would play two matches.
We played one of our teams against their team it was a great match, Stirling opened the scoring with an excellent net from the edge of the D – though St Laurence quickly countered and scored two. Stirling scored again though we were helpless as they scored two more nets and St Laurence ran out 4/2 winners.
Next up was the other team who took part in an excellent match, it was really close and thanks to a net from Jackson we won the match 1/0 to make the overall score 4/3 to them. Next up was the other team trying to put the scores level, another really tight game ensued but we came out 1/0 winners thanks to a great net from Flora. This put the scores at 4/4 with one game in hand. We took to the court confident that we would be the victors. In the final game Martin was on fire, and thanks to some clever link up play with Maya, he scored two magnificent nets! St Laurence scored one late on but the defence held strong and we won the game 2/1. This meant that we won overall 6/5.
Well done Sancton Wood, this was our second victory in one week. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and we had a lot of fun.
