The new home of Sancton Wood’s senior school was opened today in Bateman Street by Principal Richard Settle and Dukes Education Chairman and Founder Aatif Hassan, welcoming its 176 senior students into their new building.

The continued success of Sancton Wood, through its unique approach to academic success and individual achievement with the right balance of pastoral care and education has seen demand for admissions consistently grow. The new building, in this prime location in the heart of Cambridge will allow the school to meet the demand with a 45% increase in capacity. They will now offer a three- form entry with individual class sizes remaining small to ensure the highest quality of teaching.

New state of the art science labs, specialist teaching rooms, music rooms, and spacious art and drama studios are positioned around a beautiful, central glass atrium. The 27,000 sq ft site also allows the students to enjoy their lunch on an outdoor dining terrace.

Developers and staff have worked tirelessly over the summer to ensure the new site was ready to welcome Sancton Wood’s students today. Principal Richard Settle said, “it’s really important that we create an environment where students are made to feel welcome and inspired to learn.

This new provision shows our commitment to the continuous growth and improvement of each of our student’s educational journeys.
