A Warm Start to the Year and a Focus on Family Support

Magic Science

We were delighted to welcome families back to Sancton Wood this term — and to greet the many new pupils who have joined our community. The start of the year has been energetic, purposeful and full of optimism.

Our parent information events were particularly well attended, and we are grateful to everyone who came along. Whether attending the Year 7 introduction to Senior School, meeting Prep teachers, or joining our GCSE Information Evening, parents play a central role in their child’s journey — and we deeply value this partnership.

Supporting Families Through Evidence-Based Guidance

We are pleased to continue offering all parents access to the Tooled Up Education platform. This resource gives families over a thousand evidence-based articles, videos and toolkits designed to support wellbeing, routines, academic resilience and family life.

This week’s “Wednesday Wisdom” article explored an insightful idea from Paula Mackenzie, CEO of Pizza Express: the “rocks, pebbles and sand” method for organising busy weeks.

It encourages families to prioritise what matters most, create balance, and recognise that life moves in cycles of busy and calm.

Open Dialogue, Strong Partnerships

At Sancton Wood, we remain committed to guiding parents with clarity and care. My School Portal and our regular roadmap documents help parents know what’s ahead — academically, emotionally and practically.

“We look forward to walking alongside you and your children throughout the year ahead.”

— Richard Settle

We’re excited for the term and grateful for the strong partnership we share with our families.
